Italian Sea

The coasts of the Italian peninsula and its islands are around 7458 km long and have the most varied forms.

There are 4 seas: Ligurian, TyrrhenianSea, IonianSea and Adriatic Sea.

The Ligurian Sea extends from Niçois (in France) to Piombino. It is a large arch in the middle of which is located the port of Genoa. Among the main islands of this area there are: the Islands of Elba, Capraia, Gorgona, and all the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.

The Tyrrhenian Sea stretches from the promontory of Piombino to the Gulf of Salerno. In this vast area there are: Mount Argentario, the island of Giglio, Monte Circeo, Ponziani Islands, the Gulf of Gaeta, the Gulf of Naples, the Gulf of Salerno, the Cilento promontory, and all the northern coast of Sicily.

The Ionian Sea is in the most southern part of Italy. The gulfs of the Ionian coasts are as follows: gulfs of Locri, Squillace, Sibari and the broader Taranto.

The Adriatic Sea: going from south to north, from Punta Palascia to Otranto, to the mouth of the river Po, the coast is uniform and rectilinear, interrupted only by the pronounced spur of Monte Gargano and bt the peak of Monte Conero, to the foot of which lies the port of Ancona. The coast is large and sandy, creating the natural environment for the bathing establishments.

The gulfs of the Adriatic Sea are those of Manfredonia, Venice, Grado, Monfalcone and Trieste. The main ports are: Brindisi, Bari, Ancona, Ravenna, Venice, Pescara and Trieste.

Given its length, the Italian coast are able to offer a huge variety of landscapes: rocky coast with crystal clear sea and sandy coasts with the opportunity to take long walks along the shore.

In any case, anywhere in Italy visitors can breathe the sea air, can admire beautiful sunsets and can have corroborant baths in clean and crystal clear waters.
