The Era Valley in Tuscany
Country tourism has flourished in the last decade especially in the highly popular region of Tuscany. Unfortunately travelers still flock to the most famous areas of the region, leaving many other parts of Tuscany wide open to discovery. This is the case of the gorgeous virgin territory of the Era Valley between stunning Volterra, well-known for its Etruscan origins and Pisa where everything has remained remarkably unspoiled.
Valdera represents the first big valley in the Pisa area, a vast territory marked by a tipical landscape of hills and agricultural relevance. It is rich in luxuriant vegetation and water since 4 rivers (Era, Cascina, Roglio and Arno) flow together in the valley.
The territory has evident traces of an important past that comes to life again thanks to magnificent fortresses, austere Romanesque churches and imposing castles.
Here, lovers of nature and outdoor activities can find stimulating courses for trekking, mtb and horse riding, through paths marked by lines of cypresses in contact with a harmonius atmosphere.
And for tourists interested in discovering this virgin area, there are numerous accommodations such as farmhouses, holiday apartments and country villas in Valdera.
